چکیده

Abstract This study used a random selection of 150 extensive shrimp farms in three areas Bangladesh (Paikgacha, Dacope, and Chokoria) questionnaires to examine the quality, hygiene, sanitation practices that farmers satisfy national international concerns. The majority (95.67%) all sites did not quality hatchery-bred post larvae (PL) felt hatchery chemicals or antibiotics producing PL supplied under-aged (below 15 ), resulting significant mortality when released onto farms. (83.3%) performed visual inspection, examining size, weight, disease symptoms before harvesting. Farmers Chokoria were better aware need inspecting features (growth, disease, shell) harvesting than Dacope Paikgacha. frequently neglected icing caught at request buyer. To reduce losses, they took action collected exhibited indicators low such as presence spots (43.3%), fragile shells (37.3%), accidental debris (88.7%). Shrimp producers also enhanced their standards by using 100% plastic crates transport improving working surfaces (92%) wash, sort, sell shrimp, building sanitary restrooms (100%) safe distance from believed new laws had forced them enhance safety, order decrease poor image held buyers, despite higher operating expenses lower profitability.

Prevalence of Microbial Load in Shrimp, Penaeus monodon and Prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii from Bangladesh

A comparative studies regarding prevalence of microbial flora in the muscle of locally available tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) and giant water prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) have been analyzed in terms of aerobic plate count (APC), enterobacteriaceae and Salmonella-Shigella (SS) counts. The total counts ranged from 2.04x10 to 4.5x10 CFU/ml for shrimp and 1.08x10 to 1.2x10 CFU/ml for prawn. ...

Penaeus monodon (tiger shrimp) hemocyanin: subunit composition and thermostability.

Penaeus monodon (class Crustacea, order Decapoda) is one of the largest shrimps of the Penaeidea family from the Indo-West Pacific region. The dioxygen-transporting protein hemocyanin, isolated from the hemolymph of this invertebrate, is composed of three 75-76 kDa structural/functional subunits designated as Pm1, Pm2 and Pm3. The N-terminal sequences of the chains were determined and compared ...

Specific allergy to Penaeus monodon (seawater shrimp) or Macrobrachium rosenbergii (freshwater shrimp) in shrimp-allergic children.

BACKGROUND Allergy to specific shrimp species has not been studied systematically by oral challenges. A comparison of allergy to different shrimp species, especially seawater or freshwater varieties treatment, would be useful in testing shrimp-allergic subjects. OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to identify cases of specific allergy to seawater shrimp, Penaeus monodon (Pm), or freshwater shr...

Introducing tilapia (GIFT) with shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in brackisheater rice-shrimp system: impact on water quality and production

Mixed rearing of tilapia (GIFT; Genetically Improved Farmed Tilapia) with shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in brackishwater rice-shrimp system was assessed for its impact on dry season's shrimp production. The experiment was conducted in pre-selected farmer's field located at Paikgacha Upazila of Khulna district and designed with three different densities (treatment) of GIFT, viz, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5/m2 w...
